Eating Disorder
Family Support Services Individualized to Meet Your Needs
-
Understand where you are and what is needed.
Together, we identify current challenges, strengths, skill gaps, and priorities to create a clear picture of what effective action looks like.
-
Build skills through action, feedback, and adjustment.
New skills are developed through intentional and deliberate practice. Missteps and setbacks are expected—and used as valuable information that accelerates learning and growth.
-
Strengthen resilience for the journey ahead.
We focus on developing systems, not simply task accomplishment. As skills become habits, confidence grows. We cultivate the perseverance, adaptability, and resilience needed to navigate recovery challenges and inevitable uncertainties.
Kevin will “meet you where you are” on your caregiving journey…whether an eating disorder diagnosis is new or your treatment journey has been lengthy. For eating disorder caregivers, the most effective skill-building paradigms focus less on "fixing" the eating disorder and more on developing the caregiver's ability to respond consistently, effectively, and sustainably during a long and (often) difficult recovery process.
Our skill-building work together will include learning and applying the tenets of active listening, persuasive interpersonal communications, the resilience protocol, Family-Based Treatment (FBT) principles, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills, change management precepts, Motivational Interviewing (MI) practices, emotion coaching, and awareness and appreciation of cognitive dissonance.
Kevin will work with families and caregivers virtually…and is also able, with agreed-upon arrangements, to meet and work in-person.
